CROATIA YACHT CHARTER

Over 1000 Islands to Explore

With over 1000 islands and a magnificent coastline packed with historical towns, there is no shortage of wonderful anchorages to be explored. Croatia offers opportunities for a wide range of itineraries suiting all kinds of charter vacations, whether with family, a partner, or a group of friends.

The country is home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including iconic landmarks such as Dubrovnik’s Old Town, Diocletian’s Palace in Split, and the historic city of Trogir.

One of our biggest emphases on Croatia yacht charters is that it is both cheaper and less crowded compared to other popular yachting destinations in the Mediterranean. While we are seeing prices of luxury motor yachts and catamarans slowly climbing, Croatia still maintains a notable price difference of 15%-25% in most niches, compared to other destinations.

We also highlight the country’s lower TAX rates on charters, set at just 13% for weekly charters, contributing to its cost-effectiveness.

When is the Best Time for a Yacht Charter in Croatia?

The peak charter season in Croatia is during the summer months from July to August. For a more secluded and cost-effective experience, consider planning your yacht charter in the spring (May-June) or early winter (September-October).

Ideally, you’d inquire about a yacht charter in Croatia 12 months in advance. WHY? The best yachts are often fully booked long in advance and it’s not unusual to see popular dates booked 2 summers ahead. Inquiring less than 6 months ahead often means that your first choice is unavailable for charter. Additionally, you might find that the yacht you wish to charter, can’t make it to the port where you wish to commence your sailing yacht charter.

Should I Charter a Catamaran or a Motor Yacht?

Catamarans are increasingly more popular in Croatia due to their comfortable cruising benefits. They offer great stability, making them ideal for those prone to seasickness. Their shallow draft permits navigation in shallow waters and anchoring closer to beaches. Catamarans also provide spacious living quarters, perfect for group charters like team-building events or family vacations.

For those seeking ultimate luxury and speed, we recommend chartering a Motor Yacht. The Dalmatian Coast has numerous marinas capable of accommodating large vessels. The Motor Yachts in our catalogs are typically locally owned and often captained by the owner himself or his son. This is a huge benefit guaranteeing a top charter experience based on experience and local knowledge.

Is a Bareboat or Crewed Charter Better?

If you’re looking for the ultimate luxury, a crewed yacht is the way to go. The crew is trained to be able to provide 5-star service in everything from delicious meals and cocktails to afternoons spent learning to waterski.

If you’re more of the “do-it-yourself” type, consider a bareboat where you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in all the day-to-day running of the yacht!

If you want to be independent but don’t feel up for operating the boat yourself, we recommend you go for a skippered charter.

If you are in doubt about what type of charter suits you, get in contact and hear more about the benefits of each type of charter.
