This is a great way to have a do-it-yourself vacation on the water! You bring your own captain along and get your guests involved in the day-to-day fun onboard. You’ll love the freedom and flexibility but if you don’t have someone who can sail the yacht for you, why not consider a skippered or crewed charter?

Skippered Charters

You’ve got the day-to-day stuff covered, but the whole “driving” thing is not necessarily for you and your guests. No problem, add a skipper and you’ll be all set! You can add a hostess too if you’d like some help on the interior and cooking side of things.

Crewed Charters

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a monohull or catamaran better?
That’s a tough one and it really depends what you’re looking for! Monohulls are usually smaller in liveable volume than catamarans but can offer some wonderful sailing while catamarans are a great option for larger groups as they can usually accommodate more people and their bigger deck space means that there’s plenty of room for everyone to lounge around and soak up the sun!
Should I charter a crewed yacht or a bareboat?
If you’re looking for the ultimate in luxury, a crewed yacht is the way to go. The crew are trained to be able to provide you with 5-star service with everything from delicious meals to cocktails and afternoons spent learning to waterski. If you’re more of the “do-it-yourself” type, consider a bareboat where you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in all the day-to-day running of yacht!
Do I need a licence to skipper a bareboat?
That depends on where you’re planning on heading. In the BVIs for instance, a licence isn’t necessary but most bareboat suppliers will ask you to fill out a sailing resume to show what sort of experience you have on yachts. If you’re chartering a bareboat in Greece, the authorities there require that you have an ICC or equivalent. Ask Alex about the regulations in the area you’ve decided on – he’s got all the information!
